Crabtree & Evelyn, Somerset
Our History
Crabtree and Evelyn opened a preserves factory in Highbridge, Somerset in 1985. At that time we only produced preserves that were sold worldwide through the Crabtree & Evelyn retail stores. We've now been producing preserves and curd for the Duchy Originals range for over 10 years. We relocated to a new modern manufacturing facility in 2002 and are very fortunate to have a small and very loyal team many of whom have done over 10 years service. 
Our Location
Our base in Somerset is a traditional fruit growing area particularly associated with cider apples and strawberries.
Our People
Many of our staff have been with us for many years and are therefore very skilled and experienced. Di who is the team leader in the processing area has been making jam for over 20 years and is pictured in the Duchy Originals Cookbook.
Our Ingredients
Our ingredients are sourced based on quality and provenance and whenever possible from within the UK. We have recently launched Sandringham Strawberry Preserve made from Florence strawberries grown on the Royal Estate at Sandringham in Norfolk.
Our Production Methods
All our preserves and marmalades are made by hand in small batches using traditional open pans. This ensures that the quality and integrity of the fruit is protected.
Our Products
The Duchy Originals Organic Lemon Curd manufactured at Highbridge is also used in other Duchy Originals products including the Organic Lemon Tart, Organic Lemon Curd Posset and Organic Lemon Curd Yougurt.
