Organic Marrow - Tiger Cross F1
An F1 Hybrid is the result of hand pollination between two parent plants, resulting in a plant with better performance, pest and disease resistance bred into it through natural methods.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Sowing Mid April to June, 20mm deep in pots or trays of moist seed compost and germinate at 20C, which takes up to 7 days. Sow seeds on edge for reliable germination. Alternatively sow outdoors in rich soil in full sun from mid May to June, 20mm deep at 75cm spacing.
Growing Pot on individual seedlings to small pots of compost. Plant out at 75cm between plants each way once frost risk has passed, then water and mulch regularly. This is the first marrow hybrid with cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) resistance.
Harvesting June to frosts. Harvest fruits regularly for heaviest crops and to extend the season.
ORGANIC GARDENING:
In order to continue the organic life cycle of these seeds, gardeners should follow recognised organic growing methods, avoiding the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides.
