Free Range Chipolatas

First question: why not completely organic?

The answer is simple: there’s just not enough organic pork to go round. What there are, however, is a lot of excellent free ranger farmers operating to the highest standards of animal welfare. We think it’s worth supporting these quality producers as well.

The pigs live a happy, out-door life, typically with two to three times more space than intensive operations and far more pasture – rooting and foraging around is one of their greatest pleasures.

Unlike other producers, we strictly outlaw what we regard as cruel practices – like tail docking and tooth clipping.
After a happy, carefree life (trust us, the pigs have a great time!), we slaughter the animals as humanely as possible at an abattoir near to the farm to reduce stress. For more about our pigs, visit the Home Farm section.

It’s always worth reading the back of packet when you’re buying food, especially if you’re shopping for sausages.

You’ll often find that many sausages contain no more than 65% pork. Our pork chipolatas are about 85%, which means you get more beautiful tasting pig for your money.
